From ClubTheWorld.com Clubbing TIDYSSENTIAL @EVOLUTION, LEEDS 24th AUGUST 2003 Sundissential North is always a special event, so coupled up with the Tidy Trax crew, you end up with one hell of a venue, one of the best atmospheres in clubland, and the people behind the scenes who really know how to throw a party!!! We arrived fairly late in the day, approx 17:30, i beleive this was due to Mr Moo not being able to drag himself away from the mirror. We travelled up courtesy of Blu, accompanied by Moo, Scream and Jellybaby_uk. Anyone who has never been to Evolution in Leeds, it is an awesome venue, which is split into 3 rooms, upon entry you walk through into the reception/foyer which gives you the option of either room 1 to the left, or 2 to the right, Room 1 is definitely the main room, with an overlooking gallery if you fancy a chill out, or just wanna gawp down at the loonies strutting their stuff on the dancefloor. Room 2 is a circular design, with the dj box right slap bang in the middle, with rails round the main dancefloor area! Room 3, is a little bar type room, that usually holds the Funkissential line up! Once we got hold of SarahPVC for our tickets, we got in about 18:00, and entered room 2, to which i'd dragged everyone into, due to the fact that Paul Glazby was half way through his set. As you can imagine i was gutted, but i still managed the last half hour of his set, which was enjoyed thoroughly, not, just by me, but the masses of clubbers dancing to some very nice sounds. During Paul Glazby's set, we bumped into the likes of Chell_sat_on_a_rock, Sentialsteve, ClaireDC and xpaulax among others, although Glazza played well, i couldnt help think that he eased a bit away from the harder material, probably due to his early slot, which is a shame. Just as God packed up his last tune Clubbing_si and Dani_babyboo, turned up and we made our way through to Room 1. Upon entry into Room 1, The Tidy Boys were just limbering up for the start of what was to be a 2 hour set, due to LAB4 not playing, no reason was given. So they opened up with a tune that is going down a treat everywhere at the moment.....Paul Maddox - Sunset, what a sight it was, as i looked out to the dancefloor and saw everyone with their hands held high, Andy Pickles screaming and shouting as he was hanging over the turntables in the dj box, the beat kicked in, and we never looked back. Mr Pickles and Mr Mozart took us on a 120 minute hard house marathon, on from sunset came the likes of bits and pieces to Tension, a start of light hard house and finishing their second hour with some real stompers! By now, Evolution was well and truly heaving and everyone was in euphoric moods, the heat didnt really seem to get to anyone, as free fans were given out upon entry, if you felt the need to cool yourself down! Next up, Eddie Halliwell, to tell you the truth, i am not really a fan of his, and have been less than impressed with previous performances from him, but, i have to say he shoved them doubts right down my throat, as he opened up with a really hard-techy edge to his set, which he built up well throughout and whipped the crowd into a frenzyas he seemed to get harder and harder, it was the best set of the night for me, and the clubbing loons didnt disagree much, as they gave off a aura that this was a special set! Room 1, was well and truly rocking, so was Eddie Halliwell, going mental in his little dj box, FIRING IT UP as much as the clubbers on the floor in front of him! Once that was done, up stepped Lisa Lashes - The Queen(snigger) of Hard House. Pffff. To be fair to her though, it was one of her better sets i've heard, and she held the attention of most of room 1 for the entirity of her set, as she played hard and fast, with the likes of The Hulk, recoil and full metal. So finally we come to the last set of the night. Who but Rob Tissera plays the last set at North? Well i've been 4 times now, and i can tell you this...............Nobody. Up he stepped, and placed his first piece of vinyl onto the wheels of steel, let go of the record and up started the newer remix of Faithless' 'We Come One'. The kick exploded into a frantic pace as the euphoric beginning mellowed into the distance and the place was alive with screams, shouts, whoops or however else other people could make noise, as the dancefloor went crazy! I had never seen Room 1 so busy, so rammed.....wow! Throughout his set, watching Rob Tissera, was like being in a church, Tissera was gods messenger, and the clubbers were all the beleivers following the word of the lord. To give him his due, Rob Tissera was also practising what he preached, as he was going wild up in his altar! It felt like a blink of an eye, and the music was turned down, and it was midnight, inevitably, the one more chants started almost before the volume had been completely turned down, then the mic clicked on, and this is what they said.......
Who wants one more????? I tell you what........lets fuck off one more. Lets have another HALF HOUR!!!!!! And so it was to be, the devils double did another half hour to everyones delight, but much too soon that was up, and it was time to go. The last tune was played to kill everyone off i think, it was the Bootleg of Hostile, which in my eyes is stupidly hard, and is trying too much, but it went down well, as everyone begrudgingly left for wherever they were off to! Once again Sundissential delivered the goods at North. Awesome.
