AJ Gibson Interview for ClubTheWorld

1) How old were you when you started DJing & what kicked it all off?

AJ: There was a club called ‘the Boathouse’ in Stratford upon Avon and that’s where I started DJing all those years ago playing the slightly cool music like the happy Mondays and stuff!

2) You’ve been a resident for the legendary ‘Godskitchen’ for 10 years now, well done! Plus you were one of the original founders of the club - how did this all start?

AJ: I did the décor, flyers and was a DJ for them.  We all became close mates -me Chris and Tyrone and we had so much fun together it all just happened really

3) How long did it take for ‘Godsktichen’ to become the success it is today & what factors do you think have contributed to its success?

AJ: Gods was more than just DJs - they always made a venue look good.  One of their strong points was always giving value for money and a wicked party every time.

4) Give us three words that describe you?

AJ: A J Gibson!

5) You play a variety of styles including trance, house & electro.  If you could only play one - which would it be & why?

AJ: I don’t think I could choose that!  My love is for uplifting music and styles to me just get in the way and split the music more and more all the time.  It’s mad as the split makes the dance scene look small when really it’s as big today as it’s ever been.

6) What’s been your most embarrassing moment as a DJ?

AJ: I think it’s got to be jumping up and down that much I went through the floor of a DJ box it was well funny

7) Who’s been your inspiration & why?

AJ: I rate DJs that play all over the world whether they play house or trance; most have been DJing for years and we wouldn’t have the dance scene like we have it today without them.

8) You’re resident at both Fixation and Knowwhere too, in addition to playing all over the world.  Recent & future dates include the world famous dance brand – Gatecrasher!  How does Gatecrasher differ from other promotions – what do you love about it?

AJ: Like Gods its one of the best clubs in the world that has a massive following where ever you go.  For Crasher the crowds are just amazing every time I play

9) You recently played for Gatecrasher in Singapore – how did this crowd differ to those at a UK party?

AJ: When you play around the world I generally play the same clubs the big trance DJs play.  The clubs are just as good as the clubs in the UK if not better, everyone’s into the music and up for a good time

10) What does the future have in store for AJ Gibson?

AJ: More clubs, more planes and hopefully more time in the studio.  As long as I carry on in the dance industry and listening to good music – I am happy!

Thanks for taking the time to do this interview & good luck with the future!
