Hello Fenian, I've read your post on Harderfaster as well. I [censored] on the promotional team for Wildchild and am a resident with them as well. I've been there since pretty much the beginning, so I know Reece well and all that are involved. I'm sorry to hear you're this p1ssed off. I appreciate, in terms of reviews and websites (as I write reviews for another clubbing website) that sometimes you're not going to enjoy the night as much as others. Nobody's perfect, but the reaction we got from the last night was really positive on many points, esp from the room hosted by yourselves and CTW. It was rammed all night there and hopefully it'll be the same at the next one. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but surely you'd have to agree that putting up a negative (or negative in places) review of a night that you're helping to promote isn't the best idea. I'm all for freedom of speech but it puts the website and us in a difficult position. We're open to all constructive criticism, and while you can put anything you like (as you clearly have) on the message boards, it's not the same with a review in this instance. If you've got some gripes, feel free to drop me an email at guy@4clubbers.net, we're all for taking it on board, after all, if we're made up purely of clubbers, so you're the people we should be listening to most. I'll give Reece a call as well so I can ask his side of the story.

Do we have Reece's feedback on the subject yet?
should have today. I spoke to him yda'y about it and he's keen to answer some questions, but, as you can guess, it's a tad delicate.

I do believe you miss the point. The issue at hand is not whether you had a bad night or not. Loads of people had a good night and am sure I will at the next one.
The point is that Wildchild had requested a review to be taken down because they are involved with HF. Other promoters are not able to do that.
HF started off as London's Leading Hard Dance Guide to give fair and constructive reviews on dance events in London. The review given was NOT entirely negative. It mentioned a lot of good points but did highlight any negative aspects of the night. These should have been addressed by the promoter on the site itself and not taken down. HF is entering a time now where it has to decide whether it is a self promotion site or a honest hard dance review site.
I support Guysters effort to address the situation which is what should have been done in the first place.
I have been a member of the site for a while and have always supported Tom in a number of ways. But I can not support the decision to remove a review other members have put up, unless of course it is without foundation. Tom had read the review before it had been put up and allowed it.
I can see your point mate, totally. All I'm saying is that, whatever happened has happened. We're not going to be able to change that however much we wish we could. All I'm trying to do is diffuse the situation and stop the finger-pointing going on for the next few weeks.
After all, we're all involved in putting a huge night on in just over 4 weeks. I for one want to make sure this is the best party yet.

I always wonder when people say reviews are subjective, I think reviewers should try to remain objective a review isn't about whether you had a good night, it is about whether the night was good.
You can be objective about what order the DJ's played in, whether there mixing and song selection was any good (it doesn't matter whether it picked you up or not, were the majoirty of the crowd into it). You can also be objective about the venue, decor, staff, sound system.
PaSSion wasn't really my cup of tea, but I think I could write a fairly objective review of it, and then you make it obvious what the subjective bits are (I thought at PaSSion, there were too many breakdowns, but then again, it is a trance club, and if that is your cup of tea, you will love it).
As for the review on HF, and its pulling, I don't think you can publish a review which is critical about a night you hosted, run it along with promotional stuff you are doing for the next night, and then expect to attract in promoters who your site has criticised.
"Hi, come to Trim weekender IV, here is a snippet from OUR review of the last night we did ....Trim weekender III was dull, the promoters put in no effort, and Mandy Furley could not mix... We regret to announce that Mandy Furley has withdrawn from Trim IV, but we hope to secure another top DJ soon"
Doesn't [censored], does it?

One site I go on (www.slimelight.com) (a gothic industrial night) has a comments/suggestions forum, which enables people to discuss good and bad bits about the club (the fav topic being dresscode/membership.....goth girls attract a lot of attention from townies). But it is a forum where ideas/grievances can be aired and discussed, and the management/promoters can comment as they see fit. I think it is a lot more constructive if someone goes "Do you think A's mixing was shit that night", and then someone else can reply "Yeah, but the headphone socket on the desk was dodgy, it has now been replaced", as opposed to just having a review which says "The quality of mixing that night was poor".
I think this approach is far healthier and more constructive.
Not that I am saying that the review shouldn't have been posted, maybe it should have been passed to the promoters, and them be given a chance to reply before it was posted, thus giving an opportunity for the promoters to say "We are aware of this and are doing this, making them pro-active, instead of re-active"

Agreed!
I want to [censored] on promoting for the next one & i dont think having such negative remarks on the board is going to be helping too much!
Agreed. I seem to have spent the last 24 hours doing this. And I've just about had enough.
Rick - you're right in a way but what's done is done. With the benefit of hindsight it's easy to see. I think we've all learned our lessons from this one.

Look
I am not accusing Wildchild of putting on a rubbish night. As James, I have also enjoyed myself evertime I have been out. I did not attend the last wildchild but am sure i would have loved it as well. Just look out how much abuse Frantic events take yet I am sure to enjoy myself at these as well.
I don't want this to drag too much either and think Guyster is trying his best to come up with a reason for the actions taken.
I do however feel let down by Wildchilds policy of pulling the review because it did not agree with them. Tanya was asked to do the review on the night, it was reviewed further by Tom and then put on the website, only to be later removed.
As a member to the HF site (Londons Leading Hard Dance Guide) I expect to see reviews of all sorts. That is the way the site started and don't see why it should change. Now that Tom is playing at a few of these events does put a different aspect on the role of the site. That from being independent to that of promoting events they are involved in.
There are many reviews about other nights there, some also not too positive. These other promoters see HF as giving fair reviews and any negative points are dealt with on the site. If these same promoters start seeing HF as pulling reviews they are involved in and leaving others they will start to loose faith in what is published.
Sorry Guyster you are running around trying to sort this out. I am sure you'll sort things out. But maybe you don't need to keep responding to each persons post, though I understand you are trying to keep things calm, until such time as you feel Wildchild can issue an official statement.
I do believe the publicity you are getting out of all this can be turned to Wildchilds advantage if done smartly. That will be the challenge for the next event which I am sure we will all enjoy.
We've issued an official apology - it's on HF now mate in the 'General' section.

I wish to say thank-you to Wildchild for responding to the actions previously taken and accepting that it was perhaps a something that should not have happened. I also appreciate that they are trying to do everything in their power to make it an unforgettable night.
I also wish to state that although I do not regret starting the thread I do regret some rash and harsh accusations made at certain individuals. I too can act without thinking things through properly. I do believe the members of Wildchild want to bring something special to the clubbers (being clubers themselves) and are not there to take the money and run. I hope we have all learned something from this.
I hope all of you will attend the next night on the 4th and experience a truely wonderful night. Then you are all able to make your own opinions.

I do think Tanya's original review should be put back up though[/] with a further responce
