I played at Crobar Nightclub here in Chicago, up in their smaller second room. The knobs and faders were breaking, and the headphone jack was wobbly...I kept losing my connection.
I also remember playing at 2 other places and the same problems occurred. Like I said, when I see someone who babys their mixer, like in someone's house, it's top notch...but when I go someplace where a couple hundred different DJs have been on the DJM-500 or 600...it's falling apart.
I personally think the ONLY mixer I have seen take a lot of wear and tear in a club is a Rane mixer.

... and for the money they charge for them, I should bloody hope they're able to take a hammering!
Absolute quality though

DJam said: I dunno...Pioneer mixers suck in my book. They can't take wear and tear. They are good if you own one at home and baby it, but every club I play at they are always falling apart.
That isn't the fault of the mixer, that's the clubs fault for not looking after their equipment. There's nothing worse than turning up to a club where the decks and mixer haven't been looked after.....sloppy promoters in my book!
