what do you define as cheesy?
is there such thing as good cheesy tunes?

for me it is ne thing with a fast beat (ie [blah]core etc). also vocals are an easy way to make a tune cheesy. not to say all vocal tunes are cheesy mind. just that its tricky to make vocal tunes which arnt.

i hear lots of people rant on about how x is cheesy because it gets cained on the radio. personally i dont think thats the case.

as for the 2nd question, i dont think there is good cheesy tunes. not to say EVERY cheesy tune is pute cheddar. some can be quite 'cheeky' so to speek and in that way fun to listen to. but imo it doesnt make it a good tune. but then i'm not saying all good tunes have to be taken seriously either.

granted i'm not making alot of sence here so i'll explain: alot of funky tunes can be fun w/o being cheesy. especially on the techno side of funk.

whats your thoughts?

mickey mouse vocals..... ya'know, them wank, high-pitched things that used to be in the old hardcore/hardhouse tracks

fucking hate them with a passion, and thats the only time I would ever class anything as cheesy tbh, along with certain wank bootlegs

defo not - storm 'time to burn', the ferry corsten remix of 'adagio for strings', tomcraft 'happiness' and delerium 'silence' were big hits over here yet I wouldnt say any of those are cheesy whatsoever!

think u can have a set of notes making a tune - if u use one type of 'non subtle' intrument for it, it can be cheesey. use a 'classic' trance intrument for it, it can be fine.

You could take cafe del mar, use a different instrument for it, and it'd go fine between eminem and boyzone in the charts.
