You say that, but you never went when it was good. It was good at a time.

I think people here have the right idea - go somewhere like Portugal or Greece and have twice as long for half the price.
and have half as much fun
If you go nowehere else apart from Eden and Bar M in San An then it's going to a bit of a limited experience.
I mean you could have tried Garlands @ Kanya, Cream @ Amnesia, Space, DC10, Hed Kandi @ El Divinio .. the list goes on, and have the time of your life. Did you try any of these places last year James? noooooooo
Fair enough if it's not for you anymore but to slate it as overpriced & over-rated is ignorant and just plain wrong

ALL we need are committed people who arent going to fuck us about and for ALL to agree on a few 'options'. From experience its INCREDIBLY difficult getting the right people involved who can a) keep up the payments and b) not chop and change their minds etc.. but I'm sure we could pull this off one day. It's mine and Kev's (CreamyC's) intention to take CTW down the route of organising professional weekenders & holidays for people - so that all you have to worry about is one payment - and we sort out the travel/accom/meet-ups etc.. This is of course a LONG term 'ambition' but something we are definitely going to pull off one day. We dont believe there is any other organisation out there currently doing this who can a) do it for the right intentions - i.e. to make friends/meet people and b) at cost value - i.e. we are NOT here to make profits out of people / get personal discounts. End of the day ALL figures/accounts would be published anyway.

James, I like your idea and think you are right about Ibiza being ridiculously over-priced, but then that's why I think you should look at it as a different kind of holiday to the '£500 beer and tarts package holidays' on offer (though that is of course available in San An). To me if you just focus on the beauty of the island and the music then you can have the most amazing time. Get trashed at your hotel (for next to nothing), go to Bora Bora (free to get in) and keep nipping out to get booze from the offie over the road...
you don't have to pay the silly prices they demand.
But to me, going to a place where all you hear wherever you go is house music (and by and large good stuff too) is just amazing. In McDonald's, in the local bistro... everywhere just house!!!
Any other place just doesn't have the concentration on music that Ibiza has- and despite what you say about 'it being about the people' (which is of course true), I also firmly believe that it is 'about the music'.
I want to hear stuff I like and stuff I didn't know I like (or maybe had never even heard). And for house music that only means Ibiza...
the times I've been taken by friends to places like Elysium and ChinaWhite where the music has been tripe and the place is full of wannabees and aintnevergonnabees, makes me cry. So bad that I've got angry.
House music makes me happy in the morning, at night, on the way to work, in the gym, in the car and on the walk home... and for that I am eternally grateful... and that's how I felt in Ibiza (but I do have the luxury of being able to pay the inflated prices over there)
I would put a few grand into your idea if you were serious about it (hopefully my mixing might even be good enough to do a set by then.
New Year in a remote house in the highlands with decks and house music anyone?
Russ
I love sitting at my desk on a monday morning doing serious work, remembering just how f*cked up I was on the weekend. That's what makes it all worthwhile...

Colin, I've been many many times apart from last year - indeed last year I had a 'quiet one' - I'm not specially talking about last year as I pretty much stayed in San An. In previous years I've done all the clubs bar DC10 (which I here is amazing). I've been 4 times with 18-30s in the past - was a right laugh, but back when it had the buzz and far more value for money (IMO)

for me its defo over-priced for what you are actually getting in return.
There is NO excuse for £30-£40 entry to clubs and £8+ drinks (good example is water!)

James said: Rather than pile all our cash into Ibiza / other peoples pockets I dont know why we dont just (and I've been going on about this for years now) ...
All start putting £50 (or less or more) a month into a special bank account NOW and by the summer have one big huge f^cking pot of cash to hire out some f^ck off private villas/clubbing castles, arrange decks/sound systems etc.. and have the biggest and best parties ever - where everyone knows each other / is "cool" with each other (CTW's long term philosophy!) - no expensive security/booze etc..
Must be some way of working this out - perhaps I need to work backwards and work out how many people should pay how much to get what - it would all be above board and if for some reason cancelled everyone would get their cash back + interest.
Of course there are huge issues to think of, like some people wanting to pull out etc last minute, but we could work on a deposit basis etc..
SURELY between us all it would work out VERY good value for money for a VERY memorable holiday ???
this man knows the score! i would be up for helping organise such an event.
