just listened to XS Denied and comments: (sorry if u think i'm a bit harsh but it may help u)

bit simple, boring and generally isn't very busy as i would put it, ie hardly nething going on in the track in the background or foreground.

Having said that its probably because u haven't been producing for long. Keep at it and u will get better with time.

Also wot program are u using as it doesn't sound like a very good one. May be just me tho.

And an actual comment on the track, one of the notes before kick comes in is out of key or something and just sounds wrong, can't remember how far in it was

Just listened to Riding the Ocean and its better, less simple than denied but again lacks background stuff and generally doesn't sound professional. This will get better with practice.

And revenge: all similar comments, too simple and not enough going on to really make it worth playing out or sending to a record company.

If u wanna know what i mean by busy listen to nething by nick sentience as he does a lot of background stuff in his productions.

Don't be put off by my negative comments but just practice practice practice and eventually it may come together.

Again sorry for being harsh but it will help you.

Listening to Khemikal Imbalanc...

i just listened to it and tbh i liked the break and the tune for like the first 15 seconds and then it all gets a bit offkey after that.

some good elements in it though if its thrown together properly.

It makes no difference what program you use! Even if you use Protools, you tune is only as good as your samples / experience / creativity!

second that.

I have a mate you who uses fruity alone and his productions sound just as good as another mate of mine who uses cubase and a full studio set up.

Creativity/knowledge is the key.

I havent had time to listen yet MsXS but I will. Take the comments on board and keep at it.

i quite like it.

its very minimal - reminds me of psytrance - this track has alot of potential.

I like the drone bassline - the kick bass could be with being alot harder but keep it at the depth it is - nice and dark!

melody is very basic and not orginal however you could have alot of fun wit this melody.

if its alright with you - i'd like to experiment with what i;ve heard and send you a clip of some ideas you could implentment into your track - also i have alot of sample cd's - so if you want some samples PM me your addy and i'll send um up to ya

i'll write a proper full review abit later - doing college work atm

My main criticisms are:

* Try to make some better percussion. The drums are all a bit "Casio keyboard" / Rebirth-esque.
* The lead synth sound is a bit naff, and isn't very rhythmically interesting (most of the notes are on the beat). Try making it a bit more syncopated and make some more interesting sounds with a soft synth or something.
* You need a bit more variation. There are not enough different ideas in the track to keep it interesting for the whole duration of the song.

Hope this is helpful.

actually if u have the cheap version of making waves it makes a lot of difference as its a shit program and u can't make nething half decent on it

Okay, obviously your program has to be reasonably good. I mean, Microsoft Word isn't going to suffice...

But I think that saying "sounds like you used a crap program to make the tune" is misleading. Getting a better program won't automatically make your tunes better!

it needs a lot of work..its very sparse, but as elemental said, theres some ok idea's in there. dunno what style youd call it tho cos its kinda old detoit techno-esque sounding to me..

keep it up tho.. get used to what functions whatever the prog u are using has, and try ans spice it up a bit
