am i the only one that thinks this word is grossly overused and is unpleasant to read? it cant look too appealing to the newbies on the board if they see everyone calling everyone else c*nts.

i was wondering if maybe it is worth censoring this word again like it used to be?

Most of the time its only used in jest, it really doesnt bother me to read it!! Afterall it is a clubbin site and with clubbin ur obviously gonna encounter some foul mouths And even if it is censored, you know what is meant by it anyway so why bother?!

Laurence,

Agreed - its used so much its actually lost its meaning and is more boring than people trying to be 'random'

also agreed about censoring it but the majority say not to..

I know for a fact that we turn away many potential US members who HATE most swear words we use over here

Agreed Luu, its laziness. I can't stand the word, no matter who is using it. I know that on here we can't stop people from using it but if people say it in my compnay i say something & would hope that they would refrain from using it.

I think we should censor it

censoring it might not be the answer but maybe deleting a post which says nout but "you cunt" or "your a cunt" might get the message across to the ppl who constantly have to post the word which is NOT big, clever or funny but just very boring.
also the mods (the ones who use the word)needs to refrain from doing so to set an example, after all their the ones who dont like it when ppl dont respect them when they do their job.
to be honest i couldnt be bothered to read through the posts one day last week cause the word had been used so much.
and for the record its only a problem on this forum, its not a word ppl seem to insist on useing anywhere else.

i think that actually this word is mainly used by a certain few people and not by most of us. I use it very occasionally (bout once a week) but some people use it regularly.

I agree that mods shud refrain from using it to set an example.

I know this will piss some people off, but I use the word as it is part of everyday language in the area I have grown up in, and round here it is not really a term of disgust.

However, I am aware that some people find it very offensive.

Maybe mods should set an example, or maybe it should be sensored, but then again, you can't sensor people saying it in real life, and in a sense, these boards are just an electronic form of talking to others.

very true,

in the pub where i work, its the only word that will get you a formal warning then barred because the landlord finds it so offensive,

Yup.

You cannot stop anyone from swearing.

If you don;t want the word on the board, though, sensor it. Simple.

I find that comment offensive. The word has been used since as far back as I can remember, now no offence to those few people who dont like the word but if a newbie joined and said the word "cunt" in their first post what would the reply get? "Oh this is ClubTheWorld dont you know and if you continue to use the word one will have to give you a warning". Quite simply, thats a no way as far as I'm concerned and if anyone honestly feels that no other message board uses this word then I ask you to look alot harder.

Of course we'd all much prefer to read how certain individuals went under and how much drugs they did thinking its some kind of competition and moaning about what they did the week after. Of course thats alot worse than reading a word like "cunt" isn't it. Yeah right.

If you wanted to stop that word from the board, the mods would have to constantly monitor all the active posts coming in all the time, nearly 24/7!
This would be very tedious for the poor bastards who are doing this for the benifit of everyone on the board.
Let them contiune the good jobs that they are doing on here and if be, let them sort out the far more serious comments made!

I hate over-use of the word. I do occasionally use it. But I don't agree with censoring it, somehow that seems a bit childish.

People who over-use it end up looking a bit silly anyway.

i do use the word cunt myself but i dont call other ppl it.
im not saying dont use it but is it necessary to keep calling ppl it when you dont mean it.its just a word ppl like to post instead of thinking up an interesting witty reply.
how many times have you started to read through a thread and then its "your a cunt"
yea it maybe used on other sites but not very often and dont say thats a load of bollox cause i go on 3 different ones so i do have a good idea.
just think its a shame ppl cant be witty without comming out with same old stuff.

over my years on the net i've been on dozzens (no word of an exaggeration) of msg baords, more IRC/html&chat rooms then i care to remember and no where have i come across the same language as on here

granted in come cases its funny. but i cant see why words like 'twat' cant be used instead of 'c*nt' as it still has that comical value that the author of the post intended

If you noticed, I say it now and and again and its not every day, its meant in a light hearted way as most regulars would know.

Yeah right, of course, its got nothing to do with not being able to think of a witty reply is it? I could if I wanted to, I use it on occasions because at times if its used in the right way its fine. If you really think its because people use it because they cant think of a witty reply then maybe you should use it then.

Not many to be fair and like I said its done with 100% reasons based on it being a 'jokey' response. But yet comment on something like people open saying how they went under on GB and got 'fucked' you then get a wave of whingers saying how this site is turning into playschool.

granted in come cases its funny. but i cant see why words like 'twat' cant be used instead of 'c*nt' as it still has that comical value that the author of the post intended

What a shit example. How is twat any different to cunt? They are both swear words.
