Hey guys I was just listening to an old tune and was wondering if anybody remembers it? Older clubbers used to tell me that this tune was a root of modern dance music. I still like my old stuff.

Yeah thats the one. I know many of you wont like it, but we wouldnt be listening to what we are today had it not been for tunes like this.

Cause it was tunes like this that were sort of newish for the times. Coincided nicely with the introduction of "little fellas" on the dance scene.

Yeah, cool tune. I have a Planet Perfecto / Matt Darey / somebody else remix of it lying around somewhere which is really good.

Not sure about "root of modern dance music", there were quite a few good trancers from around that time. I suspect it must have been vaguely around the time of "Insomnia" by Faithless.

Yeah, there was a fair bit of early trance around before it. Still a top tune though, and the bit about the little things... been around a lot longer than that!

i was never too keen on matt dareys version of it. not compared to the 93 version, but then the original version is a distant rose-tinted memory of version

Oops I didn't mean the Matt Darey mix, I meant the Breeder mix on the other side. It was re-released in 1999 under "Planet Perfecto" on Code Blue.

1993 sounds about right for the original.

the matt darey remix followed a matt darey formula ive noticed on 2 other of his productions from that time - his remix of 9pm (til i come) and another one i cant remember. When all 3 of these started they had practically identical effects (only difference was the pitch i think, havent listened to them for a while) and they used the same timings to drop the basslines. Of course they all then went off into their own tunes but he cheated on creating the opening drum loops by basically copying it.

Some of his remixes are very good. But most of them are very formulaic.
