Cool, I'm glad at least 3 or 4 of us on here like a bit of garage!

I still put on my old garage records occasionally (Artful Dodger, Rhythm Masters, Serious Danger, Dem 2, MJ Cole, Todd Edwards...)

Never really liked anything too cheesy (apart from Todd Terry!) but there used to be loads of good stuff ... e.g. some of the older two-step tracks, the more soulful house, funky dubby garage (which IMHO overlaps with tech house), even some of the speed garage was great...

and I like some of the old garage stuff you got there - funny cause I hate garage now. I think it was that stupid insane mc'ing that put me off it

A tune, but wouldn't play the garagey mix.

Bizzare Inc. - Playing With Knives

A classic.

Cevin Fisher feat. Loeatta Holloway - (You got me) Burnin Up

Played at Mod1's party. A nice funky mix of it tho.

Kristine Blond - Love

Is this supposed to be Love Shy ? Again the non-garage mixes are good.

Quote:

Phats & Small - Turn Around
Shanks & Bigfoot - Sweet Like Chocolate

Own these, but doubt I'll ever play them out.
Quote:

Roger Sanchez - I Want Your Love

Proper US garage. Nice.

Soulsearcher - Can't Get Enough

Ditto. Can't remember if I took this to Mod's.

IMHO the cream of the disco-house crop.

I'm glad it's not just me that liked this tune from the cheesy German git.

Underworld - Born Slippy

Good tune, but I've always thought they've done loads of better stuff (Push Upstairs, Jumbo, King of Snake...) I guess it mainly owes its success to Trainspotting.

I think 2000/1 Garage was excellent stuff. Nothing AT ALL since though.

agreed - sometimes I really do honestly miss the old/original garage and the old clubbers who were into it at the time (when the attitude wasnt so bad!)
